Aisling is Manager of ArcLabs Research and Innovation Centre, Waterford Institute of Technology's business incubator, supporting entrepreneurship in the South East of Ireland from their sites in Waterford and Kilkenny.
Aisling has over 10 years experience working across various research and innovation roles, completing her PhD in 2016 in entrepreneurship at Waterford Institute of Technology. Her PhD focussed on the area of entrepreneurship and networks, with specific interest in the gender dimension of network development. Aisling has presented her research internationally, across Ireland, the UK, Europe and the US.
Aisling is President of Network Ireland for 2021 and is thrilled to lead the organisation and is passionate about the Network ethos: to drive the personal and professional development of women. Established in 1983, Network Ireland is recognised as the leading voice for representation of women in Ireland.
Aisling was President of the Network Ireland Waterford branch for two years (2017 and 2018) and remains an active member of the committee.
Aisling thrives on working with entrepreneurs and is driven to participate in fostering a sustainable economy in Waterford and the South East region of Ireland. As part of her work in ArcLabs, Aisling is passionate about building the entrepreneurial pipeline for the region and sees youth entrepreneurship as an integral part to this. Aisling is involved with entrepreneurial development programmes for children from primary level, through secondary and third levels. She is also involved with Techstars, part of the organising team for the Global remote online Start Up Weekend, facilitated in April 2020, dedicated to solutions to challenges presented by the Covid19 pandemic.
Aisling is passionate about the arts and as well as singing in Intonations choir and she sits on the board of the Garter Lane Arts Centre.
Aisling is also a yoga teacher, trained in the Alphazone School of Yoga, under Michael Connolly and is passionate about the benefits of yoga to mind and body. Since March 2020, Aisling teaches more than ever, teaching online via Zoom, bringing health and connection to an amazing community of yogis all over the world!
