Dr Lindsay Broadbent is a research fellow at Queen's University Belfast investigating respiratory virus-host interactions and the consequences of infection on lung cells. Lindsay has over ten years’ experience working on RSV including fundamental, translational, and pharmaceutical research. Her work utilises differentiated primary airway epithelial cell models to study respiratory virus infection in a physiologically and morphologically relevant model. Lindsay is enthusiastic about teaching and science communication. During the COVID-19 pandemic she was a regular commentator on local, national and international news including BBC News, Sky News, BBC Radio 4, BBC 5Live and CBC News.
