I am Professor and Chair of Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama at University College Dublin. I was UCD academic lead for the creation of the Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI) and continue to be involved as member of the Board of Directors. I am Chair of the Board of the Irish Film Institute. I have contributed to many radio programmes as a commentator and scholar on Irish literature, culture and history and have also contributed to tv programmes on similar topics. Topics of particular interest include: contemporary Irish writing, arts advocacy, public humanities, women's literary and cultural production. I am competent (not fluent) in Irish and can contribute to Irish-language media, with some preparation.

The sample broadcasts included below feature (1) my participation in a discussion of the legacy of the late Margaret MacCurtain for RTE's The History Show (radio) and (2) commentary on the recent 90th birthday of Edna O'Brien (RTE TV news, report by Sinead Crowley).
