I am Nicola Tallant and I am a journalist with an expertise in organised crime. I am the Investigations Editor of the Sunday World newspaper and I am three time (and current) holder of the Irish Crime Journalist of the Year title. My work takes me deep into the structure and personalities of some of the biggest drug mobs and organised crime gangs in the world.
I also have an interest in the social effects of crime on society. I hold a H Dip in Criminology and I am an author of a number of books including 'The Witness' which tells the true story of a child groomed into a drug gang and who later becomes a protected witness when he breaks gangland's code of 'Omerta.'
I believe that crime is a world where men hold all power and where women know their place which makes my own basic role within it as a 'commentator' interesting in itself.
